How to pitch a brand when you are a small creator

A short email structure that gets replies, what to include in your media kit and what not to say.

Brands receive many pitches that say "I love your products, let's collaborate". The ones that get a reply are specific, short and about the brand's goals.

A five-line pitch

  • Line 1: who you are and who your audience is, in one sentence.
  • Line 2: why this brand fits, with one specific example, such as a product you already use.
  • Line 3: one concrete idea for a video or series.
  • Line 4: what you would deliver and roughly when.
  • Line 5: a link to your media kit and a clear next step.

What goes in a media kit

  • A short bio and a clear photo.
  • Your audience: location, age range and what you post about.
  • Real numbers: followers, average views, engagement rate.
  • Two or three examples of your best work.
  • How to reach you, and your rates on request.

What to avoid

  • Mass emails with the wrong brand name in them.
  • Claiming numbers you cannot show.
  • Quoting a price before you understand the brief.
  • Long messages: aim for something a busy person reads in thirty seconds.
